A four-leaf clover...in January...in the Midwest!
January 7, 2019
I was eager for spring knowing that the first one I found would be for him. Or so I thought....like so many other days before, I hustled out to my car from work and glanced at the clovers along the way. There it was! My team at work was praying for him just a few hours before this. I told them it was a silly request but in addition to healing, I wanted to find him a clover so he felt heard. You guys, I jumped up and down on the way to my car ahahhahaha
This hippy dude is a Child of God, not the Earth. Like you, this universe that we are so moved by is also part of His creation. I wanted him to take that knowledge with him on his healing journey. How this little guy survived most of a Midwest winter is beyond me; any lasting clovers are usually absolute mush. Let this tenacity remind you that God hears your prayers.
By March I had pressed, laminated and mailed off this clover with all the love I could pack into an envelope. Here is what he had to say: "I wanted to thank you so much for the loving letter and clover. It means the world to me. One of the nicest things I've been given in my life. Thanks for the prayers. The power of prayer means a lot to me. I will fight this with all I got and having your prayers gives me strength. I send you so much love and thanks for being you!!" I am so honored to be a part of his story. He is strong and crazy enough to conquer anything. This one was special to me because of who it was for but also because only God can provide a thriving clover in a Midwest January :)
We spoke again in April on his birthday and he said "this one feels good". We talked about gratitude and how big our kids are getting. New brain scans in July brought good news and he is still going strong today.
Peace, N
