A symbol of strength and support.

#34 & 35

There is a lady at my job who is so many of the things that I simply am not. She is soft-spoken and graceful, always put together and steady.  She is loved by everyone and often encourages me.  Her adult daughter is struggling and we mamas hurt when our babies hurt.  She shared a bit of the details and I promised to pray for her daughter and I wanted to find her a clover.

The note to my friend went something like this:

The Lord led me to pray with you instead of for you.
I prayed for your daughter and want to protect your heart as you mourn for her heartbreak and
beg for healing in the Lord's time.
He's got her.
He sees her.
He loves her.

I stood in my sister's yard and knew just where to look but....that section was in the sun... it was a hot day... I was barefoot....the grass was prickly ... so I hunted on the other side.  The picture in my head of her clover was tattered - a good metaphor for what her daughter was feeling. Of course I found a clover exactly where I selfishly ignored but it wasn't tattered.  I found a second clover, a tattered one, right next to the first.

I gave both clovers to my friend and asked that she gift the second to her daughter when encouragement was needed.

The thank you email I received was full of grace, just like my friend. She mentioned feeling at peace which is an answer to prayer - what a gift!  She awarded me favor and accolade I truly don't deserve but what stuck out to me was her gratitude for my obedience.  You see, one of the laminators I use is in her office and she has heard aaalllll about my little clover project and how pleased I was to see it all the way through; it has taught me so much.  She also pointed out the lesson my sweet boys are learning about how to love others and live for Christ.  Thank you. I hope so!

Peace,
Nicole Astra
PS: I'll post more reactions and what people have said about this project soon!
