Sometimes you're right and sometimes you're wrong...

#47 and #48

Yesterday morning I felt lead to a dam on the river to find a clover. In my memory this spot is tall prairie grass but I knew it was where I was supposed to look. Usually it doesn’t work this way; I find a field or patch of clovers and ask God for direction on where to hunt. Late in the day we took our bikes to the spot. There was about ten feet of clovers just after the tall grass ended! I laid my bike down, walked in a few feet, bent down and picked a four-leaf clover. Just like that! It took only a few seconds.

Today I felt lead to a baseball field in our neighborhood. We walked down and I hunted and prayed for a friend battling cancer. I hunted and I hunted but didn’t find anything. The ground was thick with other ground covers and it was hard to see the clovers when I did find them.

Lord, why am I here? As I made my way around the far end of the field a young girl sat down near me in the grass. I knew then I was there for a person, not a clover. My oldest came over to me and said he felt like we should help her. Of course I suggested that he go talk to her. He wasn’t keen on that idea. I hunted a bit longer then conceded that I wasn’t going to find one and perhaps we were there for him to talk to this girl.

I suggested that he look for a clover and give it to her as a way to start a conversation. He lit up! He walked over to me, bent down and within 20 seconds found a four-leaf clover. He was so thankful and smiley. We talked with the young woman for a while. She jumped up to hug us when we said it was for her. She is expecting and put it into the birthing book she was reading. It was a special moment. I will be tracking this mama down to give her baby a clover too. (You knew I would!)

Peace, Nicole Astra
